Intensive Care is keeping up the pace

Workplace Giving supports great RCH care

Helping Heath

Jessica Bower’s uneventful pregnancy left her and husband Cameron unprepared for baby Heath’s alarming arrival. Born at 36 weeks, Heath was blue, barely breathing and paralysed on the right side. X-rays confirmed that his “lungs were not good”.

Akeira's Amazing Journey

A creative seven-year-old, Akeira is a star RCH patient and fundraiser. Born premature, Akeira was diagnosed at birth with a rare congenital condition called Goldenhar Syndrome that disrupted her in utero development. As a result, Akeira has hearing loss in both ears, facial abnormalities, issues with her speech and only one kidney.

ChIPS camps for young people with chronic illness

The Chronic Illness Peer Support (ChIPS) program brings light-hearted relief to some of our sickest young people.
One of the programs offered by ChIPS is a camp, giving young people with a chronic illness the opportunity to get together for three days of fun, sun and achievement.

Cultivating wellness: the RCH Garden Program

Keen to recapture the appeal of the former garden, Dirty Hands Happy Hearts Auxiliary are funding a brand new sensory garden adjacent to the Kelpie Adolescent and Rehabilitation Ward. With a Mediterranean Courtyard theme, the garden will include an olive grove, fruit trees, a vegetable garden and ornamentals.
