Tax time 2012 :: A win-win situation

Make a donation, help sick children and reduce your tax bill

Australian tax payers can reduce the amount of tax you owe by giving a gift of more than $2 to an approved charity, like The Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation.

End of financial year giving makes you happy in more ways than one

It’s nearly tax time again.  Before you head off to see your accountant, and wade through 12 months of receipts, we would like you to consider a donation that has three major benefits:

  1. Your tax time donation help ensure The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) is best equipped to continue delivering the best possible care for our young patients
  2. Your tax time donation may also help to reduce your own tax bill
  3. You get to feel all warm and fuzzy inside knowing that your tax time donation not only makes a difference, it can save lives.

It’s a win-win situation. And incredibly swift and simple too.

All donations to the Foundation directly benefit the children and families that have need to come to the hospital. Imagine your child was sick or hurt. Imagine how important it is for the families who come to the RCH for emergency or ongoing medical care to feel confident in our staff, resources and knowledge.

Every year the RCH treats over 60,000 children that present to the emergency department.  Over 35,000 end up being admitted to hospital for further treatment, and more than 190,000 children are cared for on an ongoing basis by our Specialist Clinics department.

One of those families that we care for could be yours.

Why choose the hospital?

Donating to the RCH, you invest in a brighter future, and fast-track the enormous possibilities of medical advancements.

Donated funds drive the hospital’s growth, are utilised only for purposes of medical excellence, and support only the most innovative, life-changing programs and initiatives – that would otherwise not exist - in the areas of research, leadership and training, technology and equipment, and patient and family centred care.

Private Ancillary Funds can donate to the hospital too

We can accept donations from Private Ancillary Funds (PAF's) as The Royal Children's Hospital Foundation Trust 2 has Deductible Gift Recipient Item 1 status. If you are donating via a PAF, you can make a secure donation online here, or if you have any queries, please contact our office.

The fine print

There is no upper limit on the amount of donations you can claim a tax deduction for – but please note you can’t use a large donation to create a tax loss.
