What is Workplace Giving?

Workplace Giving is a simple, effective way for your workplace community to support The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) community.

Workplace Giving donations are made through regular pre-tax payroll deductions, so there’s no need for a tax receipt. Just nominate your preferred donation amount via payroll and you’re ready to go! Whether you give $1 or more each pay period, the impact you and your colleagues have is powerful.

Making a difference

In 2013/2014, Workplace Giving benefitted the RCH Music Therapy program, which supports patients like David as they recover in hospital.

At the age of three, David was diagnosed with cancer and subsequently suffered a stroke. Though this was a difficult time, his mum Kate recalls that David’s Music Therapist was always able to make him smile.

“It was like the first glimmer of light after the storm and reminded us that the David we knew and loved was still in there. She was, without exaggeration, the only person that could get David to smile during that difficult time.”

A great match

The impact Workplace Giving can have is even greater when employers match employee Workplace Giving donations.

It’s also a great motivator to make a difference. According to an Australian Charities Fund survey, 82 per cent of employees are more inclined to give to charity through the workplace if their employer matches donations.

Not only does this double the amount raised for the hospital, it shows the strength of your workplace community.
